Belize City
Altun Ha is a small site, but it was an important ceremonial and commercial center in the Classic Period due to its location close to the coast. No stela was found at this site, however, during excavations very valuable objects were discovered, including the largest carved jade object in the Mayan world, the Jade Head of the Sun King Kinich Ahau.
